The 2019 CX-5 receives meaningful updates that include newly available features, a new top-of-the-line model, and its first-ever turbocharged engine. That makes it a winner in our book and earned it another spot on our 10Best Trucks and SUVs list. But it is the best-looking and best-driving compact crossover. Based strictly on the numbers, the 2019 CX-5 isn't the best at anything. Its rich-looking interior puts it in a class above its price-point peers, and abundant driver-assistance features are available. A fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive is standard all-wheel drive and either a powerful turbocharged or diesel-powered engine are optional.
The marvelous Mazda appears more expensive than it is-which adds to the charm. Distinctive styling and engaging driving dynamics separate the 2019 Mazda CX-5 from the competition.
